Китайская компания LandSpace Technology, производитель космических ракет
 
Компания LandSpace собрала ЖРД,работающий на топливной паре метан/кислород в Хучжоу, провинция Чжэцзян на востоке Китая.

Китайский стартап Land Space Technology Corporation Ltd. (LandSpace) завершил сборку своего первого двигателя на кислороде и метане TianQue-12 (TQ-12). В конструкции TQ-12 использовались методы оцифровки 3D и компьютерного моделирования, а для его изготовления использовались 3D-печать и лазерная сварка.

ЖРД TianQue-12 (TQ-12) с 80-тонной тягой будет использоваться в орбитальной ракете-носителе ZQ-2/Zhuque-2 (Чжуцюэ-2, «Красная птица»), способной вывести грузы массой до 4000 кг на 200-километровую низкую околоземную орбиту и 2000 кг на 500-километровую солнечно-синхронную орбиту.

Основанная в 2015 году, компания LandSpace планирует в 2020 году осуществить первый пуск ракеты-носителя ZQ-2/Zhuque-2 с новым ЖРД TianQue-12 (TQ-12). Впоследствии, три типа ракет-носителей будут разработаны на базе ZQ-2, причем самым крупным носителем из них будет ZQ-2C.

В компании утверждают, что ракета-носитель ZQ-2/Zhuque-2 станет первой китайской ракетой, работающей на топливной паре метан/кислород и после испытательного полёта станет третьей в мире частной ракетой по уровню тяги.

Главный инженер LandSpace Юань Юй заявил, что метан является оптимальным топливом для LandSpace. «Прошло четыре года с момента основания LandSpace, и мы планируем, что наш собственный ракетный двигатель, будет не хуже, чем Merlin-1D ...», – заключил Юань Юй.

Это событие можно рассматривать как важный поворотный момент для китайских пусковых установок и частной китайской космической отрасли в целом. Правительство Китая поощряет участие частных предприятий в космической отрасли. В настоящее время в стране насчитывается более 60 частных компаний в сфере коммерческой космической промышленности.

HELSINKI — Chinese private launch firm LandSpace has completed assembly of a liquid methane-liquid oxygen rocket engine for its new Zhuque-2 launch vehicle.

Assembly of the 80-ton thrust Tianque-12 methalox engine was completed at a manufacturing base in Huzhou, eastern China, following a successful power pack test in March.

The engine benefits fr om a modular and integrated design, according to a May 6 Landspace news release, helping to reduce the number of components and reduce costs. A hot fire test is expected before the end of June.

Landspace will use the TQ-12 engine for its Zhuque-2 (Vermillion Bird-2) medium-lift launch vehicle, which will measure 48.8-meters tall with a diameter of 3.35 meters. It will be capable of delivering a 4,000-kilogram payload capacity to a 200-kilometer low Earth orbit and 2,000 kilograms to 500-kilometer Sun-synchronous orbit.

The company claims the launch vehicle will be the first Chinese rocket powered by methalox propellant and will, upon its test flight expected in 2020, have the third-highest thrust level among commercial aerospace companies globally.

Mike Gruntman, a professor of astronautics at the University of Southern California, told SpaceNewsthat the TQ-12 engine development was a ‘big deal’, demonstrating that China has, “accumulated a critical mass in rocket technology and [is] capable of embarking on developments wh ere they are blazing the trail rather than reproducing what had been demonstrated earlier.”

Gruntman states that a large methane-LOX engine was developed and qualified in the USSR in 1980s, but never flown, while Blue Origin’s BE-4 will soon be completed.

“Chinese methane-LOX engines will be part of a sel ected group who can, and soon will have, done it”, Gruntman states, signaling a mature program and broad capabilities.


Deals with Open Cosmos, D-Orbit

Landspace last month reached two agreements with UK-based Open Cosmos and D-Orbit of Italy related to launch services involving the Zhuque-2 rocket.

Remco Timmermans, head of communications at Open Cosmos, told SpaceNews via email that the memorandum of understanding with Landspace is a reciprocal agreement aimed at the Chinese small satellite market.

“Open Cosmos has access to Landspace launches to take potential Chinese Open Cosmos customer payloads into orbit. Landspace in its turn will advise any potential Chinese payload operators to consider Open Cosmos platforms for integrating their payloads, while launching on Landspace vehicles.”

According to Landspace the deals totaled $15 million. Open Cosmos stated that there is no mention of monetary obligations or targets in the MoU, while D-orbit had not responded to requests for comment by press time.

The agreements were signed at the Second Belt and Road Forum in Beijing in April and were nominally linked to the ‘Spatial Information Corridor’ dimension of the wider Belt and Road initiative, a massive development strategy launched by China in 2013.

Landspace had previously signed a contract with Gomspace of Denmark to provide launch service with a launch vehicle named LS-1, a project which was canceled and replaced by the Zhuque-1 rocket.


Emerging Chinese commercial launch sector

Landspace Technology Corporation is one of several new companies in China aiming to provide commercial launch services to Chinese and international customers, and has attracted around $75 million in funding from China Growth Capital, Goldwind, PGA Venture Partners and others.

Their progress since being founded in 2015 has, along with other similar entities, been accelerated by government policies, support from the State Administration for Science, Technology and Industry for National Defense (SASTIND), which oversees the space sector, and a civil-military integration national strategy which facilitates transfer of restricted technologies from state-owned space and defense contractors to approved firms.

Landspace made the first Chinese private attempt to place a satellite in orbit in October 2018 with its three-stage, solid-propellant Zhuque-1 launch vehicle. The mission ended in failure due to a reaction control system anomaly 402 seconds into the flight.

Competitor OneSpace failed with its first orbital launch March 27. The next private Chinese orbital launch attempt will come fr om iSpace and its Hyperbola-1 rocket, set for early June.

BEIJING, May 17 (Xinhua) -- China has successfully tested an 80-tonne thrust liquid oxygen-methane engine, according to its developer Friday.

The engine, named TQ-12, was independently developed by the private rocket company LandSpace and has the third-highest thrust level among liquid oxygen-methane engines globally.

The engine is environmentally friendly, low-cost, easy to operate and reusable. The successful test shows that China's private rocket companies have mastered the key technologies of the 100-tonne liquid propellant rocket engine, according to the company.

The engine, which can be used in small rockets as well as medium-sized and heavy rockets, has high commercial value, the company said.
