Big bada boom, as expected — a crowd pleaser.  Once the crew capsule has safely ejected from the booster, the remains shred and go boom.  The capsule, off frame to the right, used its Draco thrusters to reorient and came in for a soft parachute landing at sea.

Musk: hardware for Demo-2 crewed test flight should be ready by the end of Feb. Probable the mission would take place in the 2nd quarter. Bridenstine: also need to decide if that mission will be short- or long-duration visit to ISS, with training implications.

No large part of Falcon 9 survived after ocean impact. No private astros to announce at this time for Dragon. International partners for ISS will be flying on Dragon after Demo-2.

Lueders said things were "pretty nominal" despite the Crew Dragon splashdown taking place about a minute earlier than the timeline released prior to the test.

Bridenstine: had about a peak of 3.5g acceleration during the abort, and 2.3g during descent. Looks like it would have been a rough ride, but the data doesn't bear that out.

In a matter of a couple seconds, Dragon got a mile (1.6 km) away from Falcon 9 -- all while never experiencing more than 3.5 Gs.

In terms of Demo-2 as long or short duration:  Jim: We have options given test today. DM2 crew would have to have additional training but having DM2 be long-duration would be good for US segment but not necessary. Decision NOT yet made. 1/3

But all options are on table.  Kathy notes that #NASA has been working with SpaceX for last 6-7months to make sure the DM2 capsule can do a long duration mission.
Elon states SpaceX is ready for whatever NASA needs. 2/3

The Dragon for DM2 was the original Dragon for the first long-duration mission, so its definitely capable. 3/3
