The Exposed Pallet (EP) with the new ISS battery Orbital Replacement Units (ORUs) onboard was pulled out from the Unpressurized Logistics Carrier (ULC) of KOUNOTORI8 on September 29 , at 10:28 p.m..

The Exposed Pallet (EP) of KOUNOTORI8 was reinstalled into KOUNOTORI8 Unpressurized Logistics Carrier (ULC) at 11:12 p.m., September 30.

Meanwhile, station crew continues cargo and trash transfer between the Pressurized Logistics Carrier (PLC) and the ISS.

Mobile Servicing System (MSS) Operations:
Yesterday and overnight, Ground Controllers maneuvered the Space Station Remote Manipulator System (SSRMS) to grapple External Pallet #7 (EP7), which was being held by the Japan Experiment Module – Remote Manipulator System (JEM-RMS). EP7 was released and the SSRMS stowed it in the HTV8 Unpressurized Logistics Carrier (ULC). The SSRMS was then walked-off to the MSS Base System (MBS) Power & Data Grappled Fixture #4 (PDGF 4) where it grappled and unstowed the Special Purpose Dexterous Manipulator (SPDM) from the US Lab PDGF. Finally, the Mobile Transporter (MT) translated from Work Site 5 (WS 5) to WS 7. Tonight, ground controllers will begin breaking torques on EP8 battery bolts.

The Cell Biology Experiment Facility-Left (CBEF-L) will be used along with the Cell Biology Experiment Facility (CBEF), which is currently being utilized on the KIBO, in order to expand its use for life science experiments.
As improvements to the CBEF, the CBEF-L as equipment for experiments can now decrease the gravity difference due to the artificial gravity generator with more than doubled radius as well as breed animals larger than mice.

Пока нет. Его еще не разгрузили полностью. Потом будут загружать "мусором" и герметичный, и негерметичный отсеки. Учитывая плотный график экипажа (5 ВКД), задействованный при этом манипулятор Канадарм-2 по полной программе, можно предположить дату после 25 октября, скорее ближе к концу месяца, имхо.

Japan's resupply ship is nearing the end of its month-long stay at the International Space Station. Meanwhile, the Expedition 61 crew is exploring how microgravity impacts humans and plants today.

Fresh off her fourth spacewalk last Friday, NASA astronaut Christina Koch is packing the Japanese HTV-8 cargo craft with discarded hardware and trash for disposal. Commander Luca Parmitano of ESA (European Space Agency) joined Koch for the cargo transfers today.

Koch and NASA Flight Engineer Jessica Meir will be in the cupola on Friday, Nov. 1 commanding the Canadarm2 robotic arm to release the HTV-8. It will reenter Earth's atmosphere the following day for a fiery, but safe demise above the Pacific Ocean.

HII Transfer Vehicle (HTV)-8 Cargo Operations and ISS Outfitting:
This week, the crew will continue to focus on HTV8 cargo operations in preparation for HTV8 close out and departure late next week. This included performing a stowage rack swap that moved two Resupply Stowage Platforms (RSP) and a Resupply Stowage Rack (RSR) from the ISS Permanent Multipurpose Module (PMM) to the HTV vehicle in exchange for the installation of two Zero-G Stowage Racks (ZSR) shells in the PMM. This reconfiguration of the PMM will increase overall stowage capacity and volume efficiency in the PMM than the previous configuration.

NASA TV to Air Departure of Japanese Cargo Spacecraft from Space Station

NASA will broadcast the departure of a Japanese cargo spacecraft from the International Space Station beginning at 1 p.m. EDT Friday, Nov. 1, on NASA Television and the agency's website.

Ground controllers will use the station's Canadarm2 robotic arm to detach the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency's H-II Transport Vehicle-8 (HTV-8) several hours before its release. Expedition 61 Flight Engineers Christina Koch and Jessica Meir of NASA will take over the controls of the robotic arm to release the spacecraft at 1:20 p.m.

HTV-8 delivered more than four tons of scientific experiments, including an upgrade to the Cell Biology Experiment Facility (CBEF-L), a small-sized satellite optical communication system (SOLISS), and a payload for testing the effects of gravity on powder and granular material (Hourglass). The spaceship also delivered supplies and new lithium-ion batteries for an upgrade from the nickel-hydrogen batteries that store power generated by the station's solar arrays.

The cargo craft spent five weeks attached to the orbiting laboratory following a Sept. 24 launch from the Tanegashima Space Center in Japan. It will be loaded with trash and the nickel-hydrogen batteries removed from the station over a series of recent spacewalks.

Following its departure from the space station, HTV-8 will be commanded to deorbit on Saturday, Nov. 2, and burn up harmlessly in the Earth's atmosphere. The deorbit will not air on NASA TV.

HTV8 Unberth/ISS Outfitting:
In preparation for the HTV8 Unberth on November 1, the crew completed the transfer of the final Resupply Stowage Platform (RSP) Rack from the Permanent Multipurpose Module (PMM) Starboard 3 location to HTV8S2 aisle-way location. Resupply Stowage Platforms (RSP) removed from the PMM and replaced with new stowage racks will enable improved stowage efficiency.
