NASA, Orbital ATK and United Launch Alliance (ULA) have postponed Orbital ATK's seventh commercial resupply services mission to the International Space Station. ULA discovered a new booster hydraulic issue during prelaunch testing. The ULA team is developing a plan to resolve the issue and a new launch date will be determined.

Orbital ATK has contracted with ULA for its Atlas V rocket for the launch service, which will lift off from Cape Canaveral Air Force Station in Florida. Orbital ATK's Cygnus cargo spacecraft is packed with 7,600 pounds of supplies and research for crew aboard the orbiting laboratory. The Atlas V and Cygnus remain secure.

НЬЮ-ЙОРК, 23 марта. /Корр. ТАСС Кирилл Волков/. Старт ракеты-носителя Atlas V  американского консорциума United Launch Alliance (ULA) с грузовым кораблем Cygnus  к Международной космической станции (МКС) отложен. Об этом говорится в распространенном  сообщении ULA.
"Запуск ракеты Atlas V с кораблем Cygnus откладывается", - отметила компания. По ее словам, в ходе проверок и тестов "были выявлены новые проблемы с гидравликой" разгонного блока. Специалисты пытаются решить проблему, новая дата старта будет объявлена позднее, подчеркнули в ULA. До этого пуск носителя, который неоднократно переносился, планировалось осуществить 27 марта.
Помимо запасов воды, продовольствия и приборов, Cygnus доставит на орбитальный комплекс экспериментальный мини-спутник IceCube, разработанный специалистами Центра космических полетов им. Годдарда в Гринбелте (штат Мэриленд).
IceCube весит чуть больше 4,5 кг и достигает 10 см в ширину, столько же в длину и 30 см в высоту. Несмотря на небольшой размер, спутник представляет собой полноценный космический аппарат с системой определения пространственного положения относительно трех осей координат, разворачивающимися панелями солнечных батарей и антенной связи.
В настоящий момент вахту на МКС несут американцы Роберт Шейн Кимброу и Пегги Уитсон, россияне Андрей Борисенко, Сергей Рыжиков и Олег Новицкий, а также француз Тома Песке, представляющий Европейское космическое агентство.

CAPE CANAVERAL, Fla. — United Launch Alliance (ULA) announced on Wednesday, March 22 that the seventh flight of a Cygnus spacecraft to the International Space Station had been postponed. 
 
This follows a March 20 statement announcing that the launch would take place no-earlier-than March 27. At that time ULA stated they needed additional time to troubleshoot a hydraulic issue that was uncovered on ground support equipment required for launch.

It appears at this time that while engineers were working that issue, this new problem was encountered as the Colorado-based company stated: "While completing testing for a ground support hydraulic condition discovered during prelaunch testing, a different issue with a booster hydraulic line was observed."

NASA confirmed that a new booster hydraulic issue had been discovered a short time later.

ULA is presently working to produce a strategy with which to proceed, after that the company has stated that a new launch date will be announced. Meanwhile, both the Atlas V 401 launch vehicle and S.S. John Glenn OA-7 Cygnus spacecraft are secured. The "enhanced" Cygnus spacecraft has been filled with an estimated 7,600 lbs (3,447 kilograms) worth of cargo, crew supplies and experiments to the orbiting laboratory.

As noted, this was the seventh operational flight under the $1.9 billion Commercial Resupply Services (CRS) contract that Dulles, Virginia-based Orbital ATK has signed with NASA. 
When this mission does take to the skies of the Sunshine State it will lift off from Cape Canaveral Air Force Station's Space Launch Complex 41, located in Florida. This will mark the third time that a Cygnus spacecraft has launched atop ULA's highly-successful Atlas V rocket.

Почему американцы называют первую ступень ускорителем - это их надо спрашивать. Обычно "ускорители" - боковушки с ТТД, которых в конфигурации 401 нет. И конечно booster в данном случае это ни разу не разгонный блок, которого также нет.

Почему же тогда сами ULA выключение РД-180 называют Booster Engine Cutoff?
Видимо, по той же причине, почему у нас "Разгонный блок", у них "Верхняя ступень". Такая уж терминология принята.

"Обычно "ускорители" - боковушки с ТТД" - обычно этот термин применяют те, у кого вообще боковых ТТУ нет. booster может обозначать как первую ступень так и нулевую. не очень удобно, но так уж принято
