I got an unofficial splashdown time of 08:45:35 EST (1345:35 UTC). There might have been a lag in the feed on my end. Did anyone get a different time? #SpaceX #CrewDragon #Demo1 #NASA #DM1

They are trying to get that chute off the capsule. It covered the vehicle at splashdown. Cheer goes up when they got it off!

The recovery team has reached the Crew Dragon spacecraft and pulled one of the four parachutes off the capsule. The chutes were expected to detach after splashdown.

Wow. NASA just now: "The [Crew Dragon] really performed better than we expected." Let that sink in. Crew Dragon - as of right now, not counting entry - performed BETTER than NASA expected.

The #CrewDragon is doing well. The recovery teams are around the vehicle and should have it out of the water in about an hour. ~Steve Stich, @NASA deputy manager, commercial crew program

From a crew perspective, the big thing we are excited about is to see the end-to-end mission. ~@Astro_illini, NASA astronaut on @SpaceX's first operational mission

We were lucky to check out the interfaces during #CrewDragon's Demo-1 mission. Everything worked perfectly. Later this year, we are going to install a second docking adapter to support an additional spacecraft docking simultaneously to station. ~Kenny Todd. @Space_Station

NASA: "Have to do the reviews, but NOTHING we've seen in the data that would preclude the crewed Demo2 mission from happening later in the year."

After the @SpaceX fast recovery boats have safed the #CrewDragon, the recovery teams will prepare to lift it atop the Go Searcher recovery ship and place it in the cradle.

NASA astronaut Shane Kimbrough is aboard the "Go Navigator" support ship with the SpaceX recovery team. A few minutes ago, Kimbrough spoke with NASA TV commentator Dan Huot about the recovery process, and how teams aim to shorten the timeline for pulling the capsule out of the water for crewed flights.

"It's been 45 or 50 minutes since splashdown, and I'm thinking, you know what, there's a crew in there. And that's a long time to be waiting to get picked up, so we'll tighten up that timeline a bit, just knowing the crew's probably not going to feel very well at this point, and the sooner we can get them out and get them on deck, and eventually back on land will help their recovery process."
