Возвращаясь к китайской установке... Что-то мне подсказывает, что автор нижепроцитирированного отрывка перепутал построенный и оборудованный в 2013 г. "Юэгун-1" с чем-то другим...

ЦитироватьIn 2012, two test subjects from the China Astronaut Research and Training Center spent 30 days living in Yuegong-1. In the 36-square-meter self-contained lab, Tang Yongkang and Mi Tao breathed oxygen produced by the Chinese cabbages and lettuce being grown under the powerful lights. They also picked 30 to 50 grams of fresh vegetables for their daily meals.

The test proved that in a planted area of just 13.5 sq m, the "human to plant" exchanges of oxygen and carbon dioxide, in tandem with technology to control the internal equilibrium of the plants, can provide enough oxygen to sustain human life. The plants, which must share a symbiotic relationship, replenish the supply of oxygen while disposing of the harmful carbon dioxide produced during respiration.

 2014-06-27 10:01 Xinhua

China is a step closer to setting up a lunar base after a 105-day manned airtight test, in which the bio-regenerative life support systems of Lunar Palace 1 sustained the lives of three trial volunteers.

The three "moon dwellers" drank recycled purified water, ate worms and food they grew themselves, conducted experiments, and chatted with their family on the Internet in the enclosed capsule from February 3 to May 20.

Lunar Palace 1 comprised a 58-square-meter vegetation cabin and a 42-square-meter living cabin with three bedrooms, a dining room, a bathroom, and a waste disposal room.

Scientists selected food that could provide enough nutrition for the three post-1980s volunteers: five cereals, including wheat, soybeans and peanuts; 15 vegetables, including carrots, cucumbers, and water spinach; and the only fruit, strawberries.

Wheat is not only the main energy source, but also the oxygen provider in the capsule which enabled the oxygen to be regenerated three times during the 105 days.

Fifty-five percent of the food for the three volunteers was generated inside the bio-system, while the rest, mostly meat, was externally produced.

But the capsule inhabitants also raised and ate yellow mealworms, their main source of protein.

Liu says it is necessary to build two mini Lunar Palace 1 systems - a monitoring station on the moon and one on earth - so the two sets of data can be compared

The experiment results were better than expected, but there is still room for improvement.

"The system is only mature when it can be run for a long time, " she says. "Then we can be confident of using it in outer space."

Four Chinese volunteers are going to start their 180 days together in a simulated space capsule after Spring Festival. The simulated capsule is made out of six giant boxes, and the simulation will take place in Shenzhen, southeast China's Guangdong province.
The capsule was designed to simulate a controlled ecological life support system and was constructed in the Southern Research Institute of Space Technology, located in Shenzhen's International Low Carbon City on Jan. 20, 2016.
Four volunteers (not astronauts), including three men and a woman, will enter into the confined capsule after Spring Festival. They will experience 180 days of isolated life together and conduct more than 20 high-level experiments, including simulation of a round-trip journey to Mars, and the establishment of a base station on Mars and the moon.
A research fellow with the Southern Research Institute of Space Technology explained in detail the "internal secrets" of the simulated space capsule. The six giant boxes feature a low pressure tank, two plant tanks, a resources tank, a life support cabin and a crew cabin. The crew cabin is 8.2 meters, or three stories high, he said, and the minimum height of all the boxes is 3.6 meters. There will be no simulation of weightlessness this time.
Vegetables, fruits, staple crops and oil plants are cultivated in the plant tank, where the cultivation volume is 674 cubic meters, so as to ensure production capacity for food, oxygen and water supplies for six people.
In the resources tank, there are recycling and purification systems to deal with waste, including human feces and urine, plant debris, waste water and exhaust gas. In the life support area, where food is stored and processed, there is a water supply system and air purification system.
The 180 cubic meters of the crew cabin are divided into nine parts, including a sleeping area, working and reading areas, cafeteria, gym and medical monitoring area. They are going to start the experiment after Spring Festival, but the specific time remains unknown. China will become the third country, after the US and Russia, to do such large-scale experiment.
Информации о реальной дате начала эксперимента пока не нашел.

ЦитироватьSHENZHEN, June 17 (Xinhua) -- Four Chinese volunteers on Friday started a 180-day living experiment in a sealed space capsule, which will test technologies that will support China's deep-space exploration projects.
The volunteers -- three men and one woman -- will live in a sealed capsule in south China's Shenzhen City. Scientists hope the experiment will cast light on how oxygen, water and food can be used and recycled under controlled conditions.
The project has been designed to test the "controlled ecological life support system," which is inspired by technologies used on China's Shenzhou spacecraft.
The 1,340-cubic-meter sealed capsule, which has a floor space of 370 square meters, is divided into eight compartments, including the passenger compartment, resource compartment and greenhouse compartments.
Scientists have cultivated 25 kinds of plants in the capsule, including wheat, potatoes, sweet potatoes, soybeans, peanuts, lettuce, edible amaranth and pak choi. Strawberry, cherry, tomato and horseradish are also on the list.
The plants are part of a larger ecological treatment system that will help regenerate oxygen and water, reducing dependency on outside supplies.
Scientists will also monitor and observe how a hermetic environment affects physiological changes, biological rhythms, sleep patterns and emotional wellbeing.
The Astronaut Center of China launched a call for volunteers in May last year, and selected eight people, including an alternative team, from 2,110 candidates.
Two of the volunteers are from the center.
More than a dozen Chinese and overseas institutions are involved in the experiment, including the Shenzhen-based Space Institute of Southern China, the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Harbin Institute of Technology, Harvard University and the German Aerospace Center.

ЦитироватьFour Chinese volunteers have completed a 180-day human space survival experiment.
The four scientists -- three men and one woman -- had been living inside a sealed capsule in south China's Shenzhen since June 17 and emerged on Wednesday morning.
They will receive medical checks and data collection will also continue inside the capsule over the next month to ensure the credibility of the data.
The experiment was designed to determine how well food, water, and oxygen can be used and recycled under controlled conditions.
The test of the "controlled ecological life support system" was inspired by technology currently used in China's Shenzhou spacecraft.
The sealed capsule has floor space of 370 square meters and is divided into eight compartments, including living quarters, space for storage and the greenhouse.
The volunteers cultivated 25 different kinds of plants inside the capsule, including wheat, potatoes, sweet potatoes, soybeans, peanuts, lettuce, edible amaranth and Chinese cabbage.
The plants are part of a larger ecological system that helps recycle and regenerate oxygen and water, and will reduce the dependency on outside supplies.
Team doctor Tong Feizhou says they're trying to ultimately create a balance where a sealed pod could eventually become self-sustaining.
Outside of the sealed capsule, other scientists are also monitoring and observing how a hermetic environment affects people's physiological health, biological rhythms, sleep patterns and psychological health.
As one might expect, the results of the experiment are considered critical to determining the viability of long-term space travel.

A cabin on the moon? China hones the lunar lifestyle

BEIJING, May 10 (Xinhua) -- While it remains unclear exactly how long China's first lunar explorers will spend on the surface, the country is already planning for longer stays.
Eight Chinese volunteers will live in "Yuegong-1," a simulated space "cabin" in Beijing for the next year, strengthening China's knowledge and technical know-how, and helping the country's scientists understand exactly what will be required for humans to remain on the moon in the medium and long terms.
The volunteers, all civilians and elite postgraduate students fr om Beihang University, are divided into two groups. The first four stepped into Yuegong-1 on Wednesday. The two men and two women will stay in the cabin for 60 days, then be replaced by the second group, also two men and two women, who will stay there for 200 days. After that, the first group will return for the remaining 105 days.
The experiment, code-named "Yuegong-365," is Beihang's second attempt to see how the Bioregenerative Life Support System (BLSS) works in a moon-like environment. A successful 105-day trial was conducted in 2014.
The BLSS is a system wh ere animals, plants and microorganisms co-exist. Water and food can be recycled in the system, creating an earth-like environment.
"The BLSS is absolutely crucial to probes to the moon and to Mars," said Liu Zhiheng of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. "The latest test is vital to the future of China's moon and Mars missions and must be relied upon to guarantee the safety and health of our astronauts."
Liu Hong, chief designer of "Yuegong-1," said that the purpose of the new program is to test the stability of the BLSS when astronauts with different metabolic rates take turns to live in the cabin and when they face sudden situations such as blackouts.
"Yuegong-1" consists of a major living space and two plant cabins: "greenhouses." The major cabin covers 42 square meters the size of a very small urban apartment while each of the plant cabins is 3.5 meters high and 50 to 60 square meters in area. The major cabin hosts four bed cubicles, a common room, a washroom, a waste-treatment room and an animal-raising room. The system allows four "astronauts" to conduct research while their basic needs are met.
